Jefferson R. Smith

Founder & CEO

Among many roles Jefferson has served in government, he is the former Legislative Director at the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) under Governor Deval Patrick and Chief of Staff to the Mayor of the City of Cambridge. An advisor to startups from Silicon Valley to Somerville, Massachusetts, Jefferson’s extensive public and private sector experience provides clients with the depth of knowledge they demand from their public affairs team.

As a Commissioner on the landmark Jobs Creation Commission, he brought an innovative approach to creating and maintaining high-quality jobs in Massachusetts after the global economic recession in 2008. Throughout his career, he has led activists in Massachusetts and helped elect numerous candidates to public office, including Gov. Deval Patrick & Senator Elizabeth Warren.

Jefferson has also served as the Research Director for the Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, as well as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Massachusetts.

Jefferson holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science, a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, is a member of the American Political Science Association and the American Association of Political Consultants.

Ayah H. Roda

Senior Account Executive

Ayah’s professional career in public policy and legislative affairs began in the nonprofit sector. She is the former Advocacy Associate at the Alzheimer’s Association, where she worked alongside the Director and Alzheimer’s advocates to pass the Massachusetts Alzheimer’s and Dementia Act, mandating better training for doctors and hospitals in Alzheimer’s and dementia and protocol, among other things.

Ayah then served as the Senior Manager of Advocacy for Massachusetts, Maine, and New Hampshire for the National MS Society, leading activists across those states to tackle prescription drug pricing and insurance regulations for those living with multiple sclerosis. Ayah’s work in government affairs, public affairs, and grassroots advocacy has given her extensive knowledge in advocacy mobilization and policy analysis; an asset to any client’s public affairs team.

Ayah is well equipped to provide clients with a variety of strategies and tactics to reach their policy goals and needs. She holds a degree in International Policy, Public Policy,and Economics from Simmons University. Ayah is a member of the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management (APPAM), as well as the Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus.
